Based in London, Ionann’s team of consultants, provide fresh thinking, solid research and measurable strategies that promote tangible change. We have decades of practical hands-on experience.
There are now 9 protected characteristics (no longer 7 strands!), and our client work addresses all of them, namely: race, age, disability, gender, gender identity, religion or belief or none, sexual orientation, marital or civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity.
Recent client projects include Equality & Human Rights Impact Assessment consultancy and training, helping clients to evidence compliance with the public sector equality duties & engage in innovative ways with diverse stakeholders; carrying out Equality, Diversity & Human Rights Audits, executive briefings, employee workshops, and trainer training on the implications of the Equality Act 2010.
We were one of the first UK consultancies to leverage the impact and efficiency of theatre workshops. Our team of professional actors are superb at engaging workshop participants in customised scenarios focused on client-specific issues related to Equality & Diversity Awareness as well as to Recognising and Challenging Inappropriate Behaviour.

News – Are you prepared for the Equality Act 2010
Public, Private & Third Sector Organisations
The main provisions of the Equality Act 2010 came into force on 1 October, which in general:.
1. It requires public, private and third sector organisations changing their services, policies and working practices to ensure compliance with the new legal framework.
2. It gives service users and employees greater rights and protections to ensure that the services they use and the workplaces they work in are fair and inclusive.
In particular, and of critical importance,
It requires employers and service providers be able to evidence that adequate “reasonable steps” have been taken – this will involve going beyond the letter of the law.
New Public Sector Equality Duty - are you ready?
The new public sector equality duty comes into force in April 2011. The new duty requires pubic bodies to have "due regard" to the need to eliminate discrimination, harassment and victimisation, advance equality of opportunity and foster good relations. It replaces and builds on the former 3 duties (race, disability & gender). It covers all "protected characteristics" except marriage and civil partnership, which only apply to the first arm of the duty. Public bodies and private or voluntary organisations providing public functions and in receipt of public funds will be required to evidence they have paid “due regard” to equality in carrying out their functions.
We offer training and consulting to comply with the Pubic Sector Equality Duty and also on Equality Analysis (formerly EIAs) which is a key element in the evidence trail.
